Christmas 2021

 We had a lot of fun making Reindeer Cookies and Christmas decorations this week.

We used arrowroot biscuits, nutella, M&Ms and pretzels to make our delicious reindeer cookies. It was a lovely treat!

Music with Matua Jade

On Monday's we have Music with Matua Jade. The music we have done was singing,youcklayke  and frea sdaf like drams,youcllayke,payno,gengall sdaf, eletrek gta and a gram sit it was so cool and fun my favrite thing was the payno because you can play ene song you what to play and I like the gram sit I loved it it was cool my thered favourite was the ukelele.

Asttle Writing-Narrative writing

Teacher Note - ‘UNASSISTED’ ASTTLE WRITING

The children write for a total of 40 minutes. Within that timeframe they have to plan their writing (a brainstorm) write, edit and re-craft their work. They are not allowed to use dictionaries or word cards. The students completed their writing on paper but have typed it out for their blogs.

WALT write a creative narrative story!

Once upon a time Harry Potter woke up in Hogwarts. Harry Potter saw things disappearing. Harry heard whispering but he did not see who was whispering. He went back to sleep ... zzzz. Then BANG! He got hit. He woke up. He said, "I know what todo". He started seeig people disappearing. He said, "I have no idea what to do now." He did not know it was a witch that was whispering to make people disappear. When Harry found out, he made a spell to make the witch disappear and the witch was never seen again.

Science

We are learning all about science.

We are learning about different science like circuits, gravity and what makes water dry up faster shade or sun. My favourite experiment was when we had to get a cup of water and out an ice cream lid on top. We turned the cup upside down and took our hand away and guess what, the lid stayed on. It only came off when I gave it a good shake!

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori

When we had Whaea Seroya we were learning Te Reo in Te Manga like pahi-Bus, poro-Ball, ka pai -Good, kemu-Game, Arai Mata-face mask. We have also done wheku masks, pukapuka and played whare whare kemu. It is a bingo game and we learnt maori words for fruit and we did a kupu o Te Ra which is a word a day. Now I am going  To tell you more maori words;

• pukapuka - book
• papama pene - whiteboard marker
• kuaha - door
• whira - field
• pai to ra - have a good day

My favourite maori word is papa takaro for playground and my favourite thing we did was the pukapuka book.

We have also been learning our pepeha. A pepeha is a way to tell people about your waka,Maunga,Awa, marae and a moana and your hapu.

First Draft - Mahuika Show

We are writing about our experience at the Mahuika Show. 

Once upon a time there were two girls cold sissy and kahu sissy was raning down and up the hall way and then kahu cot sissy thir come a  Masders guy runing down the holy way. sissy and kuhu was wandring wot is thet nowes I don't no and the  guy was Potiki. sissy asked Potiki to show me the way to Mahuika  and then pukeko come to capture Potiki and took hem to Mahuika. sissy and kahu sane a song togther and Mahuika saved their nana. Then the fire was out and they went home and waited for thier nana to turn back to normal and I think it was inckridabl and amazing.

My Mum

WALT to write a description of our mum using precise words to create an image in our readers minds.

My mum is the best mum ever and I am going to tell you about her. Her name is Amy. She likes our dog Ruma. She has brown shiny eyes like me and freckles. She likes wearing sunglasses.

She never goes for runs. We like to go to Fiji  together. She is the best  mum ever because she is lovely and happy. We like to watch shaland street  together and she is beautiful every day. I love my mum as much as she loves me. I am trying to say my mum is the best mum ever!!! 

Writing ANZAC Day

We have ANZAC Day to remember the soldiers that died in the war we wear poppies and not roses because poppies were the first to grow back at the war. We go to the dawn parades to always remember them. I will remember them and to remember my Great Great Grandfather every ANZAC Day .I will always wear my Great Great Grandfather medals.

Statistics

 WALT ask a question for data collection, create a survey to carry out a simple investigation, make a tally chart and create a bar graph.

A bar graph needs a Title and labels. We have to ask a question to find out information (data) then we can put it on a graph.

NZ Birds

The day had finally come I was nervous I felt Proud Duffy and scruffy were The main characters. Butterflies went crazy in my stomach there were so much People watching There were 4 friends and I was number 4. The friends were Alaris, Tame, Levi and me. I can see all The People were walking in Through The Door We were singing And dancing Too. we all were standing up when The music stopped we all sat down.I said my favourite Books are about plants I love monsteras And This Book Tells me how To look after Them Then it was The BFG group. Donna was Sophie and Ryan was the BFG with all the another giants.

Tsunami Evacuation

On Friday we went up a hill because we got a Tsunami warning. I got picked up but when we were walking up the hill I felt scared but then I felt safe. I went to the airport. There was a lot of kids. I saw my aunty and we heard another warning. I thought, "what is going to happen next?" I wondered how long the walk was. There was nothing to do!
